  • Free (Poetry) Write

Felt like writing poetry last night.  Here goes:

With a you-shaped gap in my heart
and tears at the corners of my eyes,
I ask Him who you are,
    how I'll know it's you.
I realize God envelops my heart completely.

The sun is a hug with a neck nuzzle,
    the wind a sweet nothing.
He moves with me in meadows
and relaxes with me in clouds.
He brings me flowers every day
    and kisses me with raindrops.
The moon is our candlelight dinner,
    the crickets are our song.

When I ask Him who you are,
    how I'll know it's you,
He says with a wise chuckle,
    "You'll see Me in him."
He's molding you to fit the gap.
He's molding the gap to fit you.

Not too bad for off-the-cuff. I'm still getting used to this stuff. ... Which is the only part of this that actually rhymed. Lol--case in point. :p
