As some of you may know, next week is Read Across America week, in honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday on Monday, March 2! Several schools around the country celebrate by spending time to read every day, inviting guests to read to students, and hosting other events focused on books (especially Dr. Seuss). I got a call from a librarian I know, telling me that Coopertown Middle School in Coopertown, Tennessee, was looking for authors to come speak/read to the school. She mentioned my name to the principal, and she got excited; so she called me and set up details for me to come visit! She said that she has announced me as "the grand finale to the week," and she invited me to come and talk to the 4th-5th graders and 6th-8th graders on Friday about writing Stoodie. The talk will begin around 9:00 and will last about an hour, followed by a book sale/signing, which will last as long as it will need to take!
This is an invitation for you to come to the school (if you're free) to both support me and the school in their finishing of their Read Across America celebration!
Oh, and this book sale/signing will require me to order more copies from my printer, so if you have been waiting to buy a book (paperback OR hardback) publisher-direct, they will soon be back in stock!
